Clinker is the core intermediate product in cement manufacturing, produced by burning a mixture of limestone, clay, and iron ore at temperatures up to 1,450°C. During the burning process, four key oxides — CaO, SiO₂, Fe₂O₃, and Al₂O₃ — react to form four primary mineral phases: C₃S, C₂S, C₃A, and C₄AF. Each phase has a distinct crystalline structure that directly determines the quality of the clinker, which in turn determines the quality of the final cement product.
